I'm in Vegas today. I'm giving a speech tomorrow with my good friend Mark Green about how to use Real Estate as a hedge against inflation. I'll be speaking to a large group of real estate professionals and I'm going to try to drop enough knowledge on them, with enough clarity so they can go home and better advise their customers and clients.

This an exciting time and the weather here is a balmy 102. :-)

Today I have Eric Brakey on the show. He's running for US Senate in Maine and he's a close to a libertarian as you're going to find running under a Republican flag.

https://ericbrakey.com/

I don't care how we get liberty-minded people into Congress as long as we're doing it. Eric seems like a great choice.

So give it a listen and don't for et to donate to the show if you haven't already.

I'm not going to hold you in suspense. The answer is YES! Of course he does.

But that doesn't mean he can act like a King. (Not unless we let him)

Today we're going to do something the mainstream doesn't feel necessary; Read the constitution.

****
The Supreme Court handed down a narrow ruling regarding the Christian baker and that cake he refused to bake. Turns out the baker has some rights. Unfortunately, SCOTUS failed to address the real issue which has nothing to do with religion.

****
The US dollar is getting stronger. For all the talk of the dollars end, at least for now it's getting stronger, not weaker.

The question is why? To understand what's happening you need to first understand how imports and exports are affected by changing currency prices and what affect tariffs play in international trade.

This last section is a little more difficult both for me to explain and for you to grasp so please be patient with me. :-)

Not just any host could tie a story about a minimum wage to a story about a lemonade stand then tie both of those stories to a Brazilian trucker strike.

But I am not just any host.

So today I wanted to share some thoughts from our good friend Milton Friedman and explain why it's competition that protects the worker, not unions or the government.

Enjoy!

It's an odd question. You might quickly answer it means you care about freedom and democracy. You might claim it means you care about free markets or Judeo-Christian values.

But I don't think any of that is correct. Frankly, I have a hard time putting my finger on it as well. I took the time to ask a few people about it this weekend and none of them could give me a concise answer either.

I know what it USED to mean to be an American and I know what many in our country believe today. But we are a wide and diverse nation. Pinning down what it means to be an American today is complex and nearly impossible.

So I thought I'd take some time to discuss what I think it SHOULD mean to be an American. I hope you find it valuable when deciding for yourself what kind of country we want to have.

"Watching the Whittling Away of the 1st Amendment05/26/2018 -

Liberty is very rarely lost over night. It is almost always done in slow degrees. Will Americans allow this important Liberty be diminished in the name of politics, personality, and political parties?

Over the years Monsanto has continued to draw heat from farmers and citizens alike.

Now Monsanto may finally pay the price for years of heavy-handed tactics and deception.

DeWayne Johnson is dying and he says his cancer was caused by Roundup, a herbicide manufactured by Monsanto. In fact, there are 4000 people bringing a class action against the company claiming Monsanto deliberately covered up the risks associated with their product for decades.

DeWayne hopes he can stay alive long enough to expose Monsanto and the truth about the damage their product has done to so many people.

Ever wonder what the government does with all that unconstitutionally obtained information they've acquired about you, your life, habits, and...well, everything else?

Turns out they used to keep it in a decentralized network that helped keep hackers from accessing all of it from a single point.

But all that is changing. It looks like our government is moving all that secret data to a centralized, cloud-based storage system. Way to go government! I give it 3 months.

Today Mike Pompeo said they are looking to impose the harshest sanctions in history on Iran.

Do sanctions really work?

I mean, how many times in history have we applied sanctions on a rogue totalitarian regime and got them to do what we want? Today I'll give you a list of times they say it worked and let you be the judge.

Apparently, the Pope says it's ok to be gay. Now, I've got no issue with this, in fact, I'd love it if people would stop judging others over actions that don't hurt anyone. What I have a problem with is how "religion" is constantly changing its stance on what is acceptable behavior. At this point, I don't know why anyone would listen to a priest or pastor about anything related to what gets you through the pearly gates.

If you're having trouble understanding what's going on in our economy you're not alone. In fact, depending on what news articles you read this morning you walked away either feeling great or thinking the world was going to end.

I'll discuss the issues with the media and why is so hard to deduce the truth in a sea of bad reporting.

I've been talking about it for over a year and now we can see the writing on the wall.

John Mauldin, one of my favorite investment writers has a new article out discussing the heavily leveraged bond market.

Now I know many of you are not familiar with all the market jargon that gets thrown around one CNBC and Bloomberg so just picking up Mauldin's article would likely be like reading a foreign language. So I've decided t break down the piece and make it understandable.

Not only that but I want to give you some ideas on how you can start planning for the next recession so you don't get left out in the cold when the next economic collapse hits.

Talk soon,

We've talked about the UBI several times over the past couple years, but there's a great article about it today that ties in nicely with an article from Bloomberg about the social welfare system in Sweeden.

Turns out, when you stray from the 5 principles of liberty we discuss on this show you can keep things together for a short time, but human nature and the laws of economics catch up with you eventually.
